Key Stage 2 Teaching Assistant (Year 6)

Location: Accrington

Working Hours: Full-time, 8.45am - 3.30pm

Contract: Temporary, with potential to become permanent

Start Date: February 2024

Role Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and passionate Key Stage 2 Teaching Assistant to join our team, focusing on supporting pupils in Year 6. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in enhancing the learning experience of our students, supporting the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons and providing one-on-one support to pupils who may need additional assistance.

Responsibilities:

- Collaborate with the Year 6 class teacher to plan and implement creative and effective learning activities.

- Provide one-on-one and group support to pupils, ensuring that their individual learning needs are met.

- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students.

- Encourage and motivate pupils to reach their full potential both academically and socially.

- Assist with the preparation and maintenance of classroom resources and materials.

- Monitor and track the progress of students, providing feedback to the class teacher.

- Promote positive behavior and uphold the school's values and policies.

Requirements:

- Proven experience in supporting pupils in Key Stage 2, particularly in Year 6.

- Relevant qualifications in education or child development are desirable.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.

- A nurturing and empathetic approach, ensuring the well-being and happiness of all students.

- Patience and adaptability to meet the diverse needs of individual pupils.

- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage time effectively.

- Enhanced DBS clearance (or willing to undergo the process) to work with children.

Contract and Benefits:

This position is offered on a full-time basis, with working hours from 8.45am to 3.30pm, Monday to Friday. Initially, the role will be on a temporary basis starting from February 2024. However, there is potential for the position to become permanent, subject to performance and school requirements.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
