Teaching Personnel work with a residential school who require Teaching Assistants to work on a flexible basis with students who have complex learning difficulty and disability.
The school is based in the south of Manchester, with Heald Green and Cheadle Hulme stations located nearby. It boasts specialist teachers, care staff, therapists and sports coaches and encourages students to express themselves and engage with their surroundings.
As Teaching Assistant, you'll join this fantastic, professional team of specialists to help deliver the high standards of support and their ethos.
Your duties as Teaching Assistant will include;
- Supporting on a small group or 1:1 basis in class
- Personal care/ assistance
- Emotional Support and Behaviour management
- Supervisory duties a break times
You must have prior knowledge or experience of the following;
- Complex learning disability including Autism
- Moving and Handling / Personal Care
- De-escalation
- Working with children or vulnerable adults
Working hours are Monday to Friday, 8.30am-3.30pm approximately, but you may be offered additional duties and responsibilities outside of these hours.
The school require on and off support throughout the year depending on student intake and staffing needs, so there is always opportunity for contract extension and permanent roles for staff who are a great asset to the school.
