An Ofsted good secondary school in the Bramhall area of Stockport are looking for a number of graduates to join their growing team of Learning Support Assistants for September, this is a full-time role working Monday – Friday 8:30 – 15:45. The role will mostly take place in the school’s SEN department but will have some classroom support included.

  • Earn £1500 - £1700 per month.

The school is renowned for the level of support they provide their students with additional needs, you will work closely with the school’s SENCO and other support staff to ensure the best possible aid is provided to the pupils that require it. You will be assigned a handful of students to support both inside and outside of the classroom, the successful applicant will also support their students on a pastoral level to discuss all aspects of their school life.

Additional responsibilities:

  • Use specialist (curricular learning) skills/training/experience to support pupils.
  • Establish good relationships with pupils, taking on role model by presenting a positive personal image and responding appropriately to individual needs.
  • Promote the inclusion and acceptance of all pupils.
  • Encourage pupils to interact and work co-operatively with others and engage all pupils in activities.
  • Promote independence and employ strategies to recognise and reward achievement of self reliance.
  • Give regular feedback on children’s progress to the class teacher and file records.
  • Provide feedback to pupils in relation to progress and achievement.
  • Under the direction of the teacher prepare the classroom for lessons, including display work and clear afterwards as appropriate.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
