Teaching Assistant

Job description

I am looking for a Behaviour support worker to work close to Denton. This post involves supporting 2 pupils with Behavioural, Emotional and Social Needs.

  • The postholder will also supervise and support the needs of both students that have been referred to the school.

  • Attend to pupils personal needs and provide advice to assist in their social care, health and hygiene development.

  • Assist the teacher with the development and implementation of individual Education/ Behavioural/ Support/ Mentoring plans and behaviour management strategies.

  • Support the challenge and motivation of pupils, promoting and reinforcing self-esteem.

  • Provide feedback to pupils in relation to progress, achievements, behaviours and attendance.

  • Support pupils' access to learning using appropriate strategies and resources.

It is desirable that you have:

  • Worked with young people with challenging behaviours in a variety of settings including education
  • Worked in a multi-disciplinary team
  • Working with and supporting parents/carers of young people with challenging behaviours
  • Working with outside agencies
  • Trained in counselling/behaviour management and child protection
  • First Aid Qualification
