Job description

A Primary SEN School in Bolton are searching for a speacialist Teaching Assistant to work within one their most challenging autism classes. The class is a small class of 8 pupils who all have ASC and are non verbal. The school are looking for an experienced Teaching Assistant who has previously worked in a similar setting before. The Teaching Assistant will be supporting the Class Teacher and two other Teaching Assistants to make sure that the behaviour is under control and that noise levels are kept down to a minimum.

The school is an Ofsted Outstanding School that has 106 pupils; you will be working on a full time basis which can lead to opportunities to progress to a permanent position.

  • Pay expectation for the day £55-60 dependant on experience

The school has designated parking and good transport links. Located in Bolton easily accessible from Wigan, Bury, Salford and Manchester, access to motorway M61, good transport links for non drivers. This outstanding school has a supportive ethos. The successful TA will be supporting students with SEND supporting learning disabilities and Autism spectrum conditions. We would require

  • Prior experience working with SEND
  • Assisting day to day classroom support and assisting with behaviour
  • Students age range 4-11
  • Developing good relationships with pupils
  • Encouraging students to interact with other students within the classroom and activities led by the teacher
