Are you an experienced teaching assistant or ambitious graduate with experience working with disengaged young people aged 11-16? Do you have a clear knowledge and understanding of the needs of students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH)?

  • Full time SEMH Teaching Assistant position, temporary for one term initially
  • Supporting identified pupils within the Learning Resource Centre on a 1:1 basis
  • Promoting positive behaviour management strategies and recording behaviour
  • Working alongside the SENCO to support the learning of identified pupils
  • In class support

This position is perfect for a graduate, teaching assistant or aspiring teacher to gain invaluable experience prior to progressing onto a PGCE. The successful SEMH teaching assistant will be based within the Learning Resource Centre and work with identified pupils who have Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs across KS3 and KS4.

  • Pay in line with previous experiences, up to £300 per week

The Secondary school is located towards the north of Manchester, near to the M60 motorway, and is accessible via public transportation links. The school neighbours Crumpsall, and Prestwich areas and there are direct links through Metrolink services from Manchester city centre.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
