Teaching Assistant

Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting for a Teaching Assistant to work within one of our client secondary schools located near the centre of Wigan.

The school are in need of a Teaching Assistant who is able to work closely with an identified student supporting their learning and helping them to engage in their studies. The pupil that the incoming Teaching Assistant will be supporting has been described as someone who struggles to engage with their learning and could benefit from the support of a staff member to encourage them with tasks set by the class teacher.

  • Teaching Assistant - Full-time position supporting the needs of an individual learner
  • Required to start following the Easter holidays
  • Competitive pay rates with expected earning of around £350 per week
  • Supportive secondary school with a warm and friendly support team
  • Employment for the remainder of the academic year

Applicants wishing to be successful in this role must be able to engage well with students who are of the age range 11-16, be able to encourage good classroom behaviours on a regular basis and be passionate about helping others.

It has been highlighted that previous or relative experience would be extremely beneficial for this role however is not completely essential to be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting the needs of the individual learners you have been tasked with working
  • Working with the identified student within class ensuring that they are focused and getting the most out of the lessons they attend
  • Liaising with senior members of the schools support team to review the progress of the identified learner
