We are recruiting for a secondary PRU to recruit an enthusiastic and experienced Behaviour Support assistant to join their centre.

The students attend the school due to a diagnosis of SEMH and have been excluded from mainstream education and may also have co-existing conditions including, disruptive behaviour disorders, mood disorders, anxiety, and learning disabilities.

The school is separated into two site each housing KS3 and KS4 respectively, allowing for more focused support around nurture curriculum and GCSE exam preparation.

The successful experienced Behaviour Support assistant must be confident and capable of supporting pupils who have problems with communication, emotional regulation and social understanding. You must be resilient and have the ability to work pro actively with challenging behaviour.

The role is more challenging than mainstream schools, but the class sizes are smaller, so you’ll really have a great opportunity to make an impact on the children.

The successful experienced Behaviour Support assistant have experience in supporting children / adults with challenging behaviour or have a close personal connection to SEMH needs.

The centres are based in the Tameside area so has extensive transport links.

In addition, you will need to complete all necessary vetting checks including proof of identity, a DBS on the Update Service and producing two recent references.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
