Job description

Full time Teaching Assistant required from March 2019 till the end of the academic year for a Bury based Secondary school.

Due to a restructure within the support facility this oversubscribed Bury Secondary school is seeking to appoint a dynamic Teaching Assistant to join their on site support provisions on a full time basis throughout the academic year.

  • Full time Teaching Assistant required from March 2019 till the end of the academic year (2019).
  • Opportunity to work in an Ofsted graded 'Good' Secondary school.
  • Must have previous experience working with young people within a support capacity to be considered.
  • Earn up to £1250+ per month.

The successful Teaching Assistant will be joining a progressive staff team working within the support provisions. Support staff are utilised across the school within all subject areas and levels of learning, therefore flexibility is essential due to the nature of the role.

"Teachers and support workers are appointed with great care; they are considered to be the most important resource the school has and are very well supported. There are high expectations of staff and students."

The responsibilities for the incoming Teaching Assistant will include;

  • Supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis, in intervention led groups and alongside the class teacher.
  • Deliver pre-set lessons in the absence of the class teacher at the discretion of Senior Leadership Teams.
  • Work with pupils at all levels of learning, promoting an inclusive learning practice.
  • Positively manage behaviour in class in accordance to School Behaviour Policies.

This -educational school is based in the Ramsbottom region of Bury and has just over 700 pupils on roll aged 11-16. There are easy access options via the M60/M66 as well as the surrounding areas; Bolton, Rochdale and Preston.
