Are you looking for a part time Teaching Assistant role beginning in September 2019?

Teaching Personnel are working alongside a large Secondary School in area of Bury to aid them in recruiting a new Teaching Assistant ahead of the new academic year.

Due to an increased intake this academic year, the school wish to over-staff core subject faculties (English, Mathematics and Science) to ensure all pupils receive adequate support within lessons.

  • Part-time English, Mathematics and Science support roles available from September 2019
  • 3 days per week from September 2019 - July 2020
  • Working alongside class teachers supporting students aged 11-16 in classes
  • Providing tuition and small group interventions to pupils ranging in ability
  • Work with children who may display occasional challenging behaviour
  • Opportunity to cover full classes with the support of class teachers
  • Gain experience in a classroom setting
  • Earn up to £300 per week depending upon previous experience

As a Teaching Assistant within our client school, responsibilities will include working 1:1 with identified pupils that require additional support within the subject specialism. Further responsibilities incorporate supporting the class teacher, covering lessons in the absence of the teacher and delivering intervention sessions to raise pupil attainment. With over 1000 pupils, the school is in need of extra staff to guarantee students are supported and that teachers also have the help they require in the classroom.

To be considered for this role experience working within a educational setting with children and young people is desirable alongside experience in English, Maths or Science. Level 2/3 or equivalent qualification is greatly acknowledged for success in this role. Any experience with challenging behaviour is also desirable due to some pupils occasionally showing signs of disruptive behaviour.

Located near Bury, the client school can be accessed via the A58 and M66. For non drivers, there is a number of public transportation links meaning the school can be accessed from surrounding areas such as Bolton and Rochdale.
