Job description

A small Salford Secondary school is looking to appoint a Teaching Assistant on a full time basis to join their SEN department from September 2019.

As the incoming Teaching Assistant you will be working under the direction of Senior Leadership and SENDCO providing support to pupils across Key Stage 3 & 4. You will also carry out a range of duties which enables pupils with learning needs to have full access to the curriculum, working closely with staff and parents.

  • Full time Teaching Assistant required form September 2019.
  • Extremely well organised, IT literate with excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Previous experience supporting pupils with specific needs will be highly advantageous.
  • Opportunity to work within a progressive Secondary school based in the heart of Salford, easily accessible via the M60/A580 (East Lancashire Road).
  • Earn up to £1300+ per month.

This progressive Secondary school has just over 700 pupils on roll aged 11- 16, and places pupils at the core of its values, ethos and practice, with a focus on creating a culture success, increased pupil attainment and social and emotional development. As the successful post holder your responsibilities will include but may not be limited to;

  • Working with pupils at all levels of learning to ensure pupils remain engaged through Dynamic teaching and learning.
  • Promoting inclusive learning and upholding the school values and ethos.
  • Positively managing behaviour in class in accordance with school behaviour policies.
  • Supporting pupils 1:1, in small groups and alongside the class teacher to work within your specialist area.

Salford is easily accessible via major motorway links M60/A580 (East Lancashire Road) and the surrounding areas; Bury, Bolton and Wigan. There are also various public transport options readily available across Greater Manchester.
