Teaching Assistant - Islington – Immediate Start

A School in the Islington area is seeking an intake of Teaching Assistants to work full time with an immediate or January 2020 start.

We are looking to recruit dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistants to join our client school in Islington. The successful candidate will be committed to high standards and will have the energy and inspiration to work alongside the class teacher and teaching assistants with individual and groups of student within the classroom.

Candidates should be qualified to at least Degree level or the equivalent. This is a full time position to start immediately – however the school are able to offer you a contract from January 2020 if this is easier for you.

Main Purpose of the Role

To support the teaching staff by helping to ensure that the school provides the highest standards of care, support and welfare for all pupils both inside and outside of the classroom, and helping children with their learning.

General Responsibilities

• To maintain high standards of time keeping and communication with parents.
• To provide a role model for the development of pupils’ social behaviour and attitudes.
• To work effectively as a member of the team, establishing and maintaining good relationships with colleagues, parents and pupils.
• There may be some work with SEN Students (Autism, ADHD)
• To provide a safe, secure and well-organised environment to encourage the development of pupils as independent learners.
• To follow health and safety procedures in order to safeguard the health and safety of all members of the school community where applicable.
• Work with students with challenging behaviour or students who need extra academic support.
• To be responsible for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of the pupils.
• To promote the Spiritual, Moral, Social and Cultural development of the pupils.

Requirements

• Educated to Degree level or hold a Teaching Assistant Qualification.
• Experience as a Teaching Assistant or working in an educational environment.
