Job description

A Teaching Assistant is needed to support Early Years / Year 1 pupils with mild to severe hearing impairement needs at an SEN Primary School.

You will work closely with the teacher and other Teaching Assistants to encourage and motivate the pupils and help them to overcome any learning barriers. You will be supporting a class of mixed hearing impairment needs therefore you will need to have BSL Level 2 minimum. The school is very supportive and will therefore provide extra training to the right candidate.

Teaching Assistant

  • A naturally caring and supportive nature.
  • Experience working with children with SEN.
  • Immediate, full time, availability.
  • A DBS on the updated service, or be willing to complete one asap.
  • Have completed training relevant to this position (first aid, moving and handling, safeguarding, Makaton, PECS is desirable but not essential).
  • Can provide excellent references from previous employment.

Performing well in this role offers the possibility of securing a permanent position with the school.
