Teaching Assistant
Job description

Teaching Personnel is looking for a passionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a primary school in the EX37 area. This is a full-time role with the potential to transition into a permanent position for the right candidate.
The EX37 postcode area includes Umberleigh, High Bickington, Atherington, and Chittlehampton, so it’s an ideal opportunity for candidates based nearby.
Main Responsibilities:
- Offer personalised support to pupils with SEN, helping them achieve their full potential
- Work alongside the class teacher to maintain an inclusive, supportive classroom environment
- Support the implementation of individual education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with the SENCO and staff
- Help foster the social and emotional development of pupils through targeted interventions
- Monitor and report on pupil progress to ensure continuous improvement
Candidate Requirements:
- Previous experience as a teaching assistant or in a similar role is advantageous but not essential
- A strong desire to work with children with SEN and help them succeed
- Patience, compassion, and a supportive approach
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- A commitment to promoting the welfare and safeguarding of children

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
