Salary: £13.75 per hour

We’re looking for a dedicated SEND & SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a dynamic team committed to making a real difference in the lives of young people!


The Role:

As a part-time Teaching Assistant, you’ll work closely with students who face social, emotional, and mental health challenges, as well as those with special educational needs, helping them overcome barriers and thrive in a supportive, trauma-informed environment.

This community special school supports children and young people aged 4 to 19 years with a wide range of complex needs, including:

  • Autistic Spectrum Disorders (ASD)
  • Complex learning difficulties
  • Communication and interaction needs
  • Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges
  • Additional needs such as sensory processing difficulties and medical conditions requiring tailored support

The school operates as a trauma-informed environment, providing highly individualised education programs, therapies, and interventions. Staff use a total communication approach, employing multiple methods to support pupils effectively.

  • Experience with SEND and SEMH
  • A caring, patient, and resilient individual
  • Dedicated to improving the social and emotional well-being of young people
  • Clear communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate with teachers and other support staff

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
