Teaching Assistant

Location: Cardiff Bay

Start date: 28th February 2022

Pay: £66.30 per day

Key details: Nursery, on-going, temporary, full-time (Mon-Fri, 8.30am-3.30pm)

Teaching Personnel are recruiting on behalf of a partner primary school in Cardiff Bay. The school are seeking a Nursery Teaching Assistant to work on a full-time basis in one of their Nursery classes.

Role:

Within this role you would be working as a general Teaching Assistant. This would involve:

  • Preparing the classroom for lessons / tidying the classroom
  • Taking groups for guided reading and activities
  • Providing extra support to the pupils that need it
  • Helping teachers to plan learning activities and complete records.
  • Supporting teachers in managing class behaviour.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Previous experience working in a Nursery Class (Private nursery or school)
  • Ability to manage challenging behaviour where necessary
  • Ability to build excellent rapport with pupils, staff, and parents
  • Qualifications relating to childcare

Essential Criteria:

  • A child-only DBS on the update service & EWC registration (Teaching Personnel can assist with this)
  • Two professional references
  • Right to work in the UK

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
