About the role

Start date: September 2026

Days / hours: Mon-Fri 8:30am-3:30pm  

Salary: £92.63 per day (paid weekly)

Location: Barry

We are looking for 2 Welsh speaking Teaching Assistants with experience in a 1:1 / small group setting to be able to provide support to children in a Specialist Resource Base (SRB). You will work alongside teachers and Additional Learning Needs Co-Ordinators (ALNCOs) to provide a safe and inclusive learning environment. The role will also be assisting in differentiated activities, structured routines and interventions.

The children are encouraged to respect others and demonstrate a love towards their country, language, culture and heritage and fully realise the responsibility in developing pupils to be responsible and caring citizens.

About you

You will need to be;

  • A fluent Welsh speaker
  • Empathetic and proactive
  • Has experience working with children / young people with Additional Learning Needs (ALN) (desirable but not essential)
  • Available to do a trial day in June

What you will require

  • An enhanced child DBS 
  • A live EWC registration

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
