Teaching Assistant Fordingbridge

Are you a recent graduate? Are you interested in a career in the education sector but don't know where to start?

We are working with a secondary school in the Fordingbridge area who are looking for graduates who are interested in becoming a teacher in the future to work as a Teaching Assistant or Unqualified Teacher. The school will provide training and you will be required to work 1:1 or in small groups with KS3 and KS4 pupils. You will be supporting young people with their work both inside and outside of the classroom. We are looking for individuals who are both kind and dedicated to help young people through their time at school.

Previous school or education based experience isn't essential; the school is simply looking for graduates with an interest in working within education. Students with a background in subjects like Psychology, SEN, Sociology, Counselling and Youth Work tend to work very well in the Education sector however graduates with other subject knowledge are also encouraged to apply.

This role will start on a temporary contract with a view to go permanent for the right candidate.

The successful candidate will therefore have to have:

  • Degree in relevant subject area
  • Passion to support students aged 11-16
  • Ambition to progress within the education sector

You will need to show:

  • Commitment to working with pupils with SEN and mental health disorders
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Initiative and problem-solving skills
  • The ability to manage confrontation and challenging behaviour
  • Observant and responsive approach
  • Patience, understanding and empathy with pupils and parents

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
