Teaching Assistant for Special Needs School

Job description

We are currently looking for a dedicated and hard working individual who is interested in working as a Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant. Teaching Personnel can offer great career opportunities within our friendly and supportive schools. You will be working 1:1 as well as in a group setting with children who require extra support through learning - whether this is mental, physical or emotional needs.

The schools that we work with cater for students who have statements of special educational needs and Educational Health Care Plans, as complex support was identified as their primary need; spectrum conditions, speech, language and communication difficulties, ADHD, physical difficulties, medical conditions and attachment disorders.

  • Experience working with Special Needs
  • Team Teach/Makaton/PEC's training (preferred but not essential)

In return, we will be able to offer you a wide range of opportunities from long term to short term placements, as well as helping you find work on a permanent basis. We work exclusively with a range of SEN schools as well as pupil referral units and alternative provisions. All schools we work with are able to provide you with a friendly and supportive environment.

Minimum requirement:

  • GCSE English and Maths (A-C)
  • Previous experience working with special educational needs (professionally or personally)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
