Teaching Assistant for Behaviour Required in Walbottle (NE15)

Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with a small, Specialist Provision in Walbottle, Newcastle (NE15) for Secondary SEMH Pupils. We are looking to recruit a Teaching Assistant experienced working with pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs. The role will be supporting pupils across Key Stages 3-5, working with 11-16 year olds.
Ideally applicants would have experience with SEMH, challenging behaviours either in an alternative provision/PRU setting or mainstream secondary. An additional qualification such as Team Teach is desired but not mandatory.
The ideal candidate will have:
-6 months experience supporting students with SEMH in a mainstream or specialist setting
- Strong presence and excellent behaviour management
-Team Teach Trained and a good understanding of SEMH/EBD
We also welcome applications from candidates with alternative experience working with young people and challenging behaviour e.g. Youth/ Social Worker, Police Force or the Armed Forces
