Teaching Assistant for Autism

The Head Teacher of an SEND school in Ashington is seeking a teaching assistant on a full time basis, to commence after the February half term working with students with Autism.

The role will involve working on a 1:1 basis with pupils aged 11-16 who have Autism of varying severities, the students are in need of extra support and guidance within their classroom environments. The main aspect of the role will be helping the children to engage with their learning, and encouraging personal and social development whilst managing challenging behaviour in lesson time. You will be dedicated to providing outstanding support!

Ideally, the candidate will have experience working with Autism; however the client school welcomes candidates with backgrounds in education, youth/social work, counselling and graduates. You will be passionate about improving the lives of young people and have a strong desire to work with SEND.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
