Job description

We are looking for someone to support as a special needs teaching assistant in an 'Outstanding' special school in Edmonton. The school has fantastic facilities on site and CPD training available termly, this is a Sports specialist school so anyone with a coaching or sports background we are keen to speak with! This will be working with a challenging pupil with Autism on a 1:1 basis and he has behavioural needs associated with his condition.

This will involve support in class and also in a room on his own. He is a Year 11 boy who is in a KS3 class because he could not manage the KS4 provision of the school. We are looking for someone with Approach or Team Teach training with solid knowledge of Autism and challenging behaviours, someone who can be a positive role model for this pupil. This post is for an immediate start for the next two terms until the end of the academic year with the potential to secure a permanent contract for September 2019.


  • Competitive daily rate £70-£85 dependant upon experience

Autism Teaching Assistant:

  • Has experience and understanding of supporting a pupil with Autism and challenging behaviours
  • Must have Approach or Team Teach training
  • Patient , confident , resilient personality
  • Must be available for an immediate start
  • Able to work during term time full time 8.30am -3.30 pm Monday to Friday in Edmonton
