Teaching Assistant - April start - Camberwell

School

A lovely Catholic primary school in the heart of Camberwell is looking for a Teaching Assistant to join them after Easter half term. The school is a small one form entry school with great support and progression opportunities.

Job purpose

The main purpose of the role is to help the teacher with the day to day running of the class Teaching assistants support teachers and help children with their educational and social development, both in and out of the classroom

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver tailored teaching activities to pupils on either a one-to-one basis or in small groups
  • Make sure that the pupils you support are able to engage in learning and stay on task during the lesson or activity
  • Support the social and emotional development of pupils, reporting any issues when required
  • Guide and monitor pupil progress
  • Help with the planning of some lessons on the recommendation of the teacher.
  • provide detailed and regular feedback to teachers on pupils' progress
  • Carry out administrative duties, such as preparing classroom resources upon request from the teacher.
  • Supervise other support staff to ensure they are receiving the right support when required.

Mandatory Requirements

  • Previous experience working within a Primary setting (6+ Months)
  • Enhanced Childforce only DBS on the Update Service
  • Valid references from previous positions.
