Are you trained in British Sign Language?

Are you looking for a new challenge in a Sensory Support Unit in South Manchester?

This service supports children and young people in Manchester, with a hearing or vision need, and their families, from birth to leaving school. They work with Nurseries and state-funded schools to share information, provide advice and develop good practice for children and young people with a sensory need.

I am looking for a teaching assistant who is trained in British Sign Language to support the teacher in small classes of pupils with a hearing need. You will need to have a calm and nurturing style, and the ability to work creatively.

Requirements

  • British Sign Language Qualification
  • Experience working with children and/or adults with hearing needs
  • Calm and engaging support style
  • Child Only DBS on the update service, or a willingness to gain one

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
