A school located in Bolton that caters for primary aged (7-11) pupil with special needs are seeking teaching assistants to work 1:1 with students in their classes. The school focus on inclusion and giving the students the best care and education.

The school is based in Farnworth, Bolton with good bus links from the Town Centre and onsite free parking.

The school are interested in educators that are passionate, committed and a sound understanding of special needs.

Although experience is desired, if you have a similar background you will be considered at applications stage. The school are more focused on the right personality than what is on paper.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Supporting schoolwork under the supervision of the teacher.
  • Preparing learning resources.
  • Encouraging children's confidence, self esteem and independence.
  • Helping children understand instructions, through repetition, re-phrasing or demonstrating.
  • Putting into practice individual education, social, behavioural and personal care programmes.
  • Encouraging children to communicate with one another and with staff.
  • Providing feedback and assistance to teachers.
  • Supporting children in social activities and on outings.
  • Assisting children during therapy sessions.
  • Recognising signs of distress in children and offering reassurance.
  • Attending to pupils' physical needs.
  • Completing records

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
