An exciting opportunity has arisen to work at an OFSTED graded "Good" SEN school who require a passionate Teaching Assistant with experience of supporting children with profound and multiple learning difficulties.

The school are looking for a Teaching Assistant to join them on a temporary basis after May half term, with a possibility of it leading to a permanent contract.

The role will require you to support with classroom based tasks and also work on a 1:1 basis supporting children with a range of special educational needs including;

  • Learning disabilities
  • Physical disabilities
  • Cerebral palsy
  • Epilepsy
  • Autism

You may be required to support with personal care and experience with PEG feeding is advantageous. Although the role is based in a school setting our client is happy to consider candidates with a passion for education who come from care work backgrounds. Candidates with qualifications in Health and Social Care are also highly desired. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work as part of a highly skilled and passionate team.

The school is situated just a short drive from the Northallerton area and located within beautiful surroundings. It is host to around 200 pupils and has access to a 5.5 acre farm on site. The school has excellent sporting facilities and is easily accessible from the A1 with on site parking.

Requirements:

  • 3 months experience within a PMLD or specialist SEN setting
  • Moving & Manual Handling Trained or willing to undertake training
  • Experience delivering Personal and Intimate Care
  • Ability to work in a team or on a 1 to 1 basis
  • A passion for working within a specialist SEN setting
