Teaching Assistant - Bamber Bridge, Preston

Our client school are currently looking for a Teaching Assistant who matches their ethos of believing that every child or young person has the ability to achieve their personal best.

We are looking for a passionate and experienced Teaching Assistant, Qualified to NVQ Level 3/4 or equivalent to work in our specialist school. As a Teaching Assistant you will need to have a passion for working with young people and want to make a difference in people's lives. The young people that you will be working with, have behavioural difficulties and have experienced trauma.

The young people whom you will be working with are both male and female and aged between 11 - 18 years old. The school provides an alternative to mainstream education; offering learner's the opportunity to work with specialist trained staff in a small group setting, with the aim of supporting young people to re-engage with education and community life.

Ideally, the right candidate will have experience in assisting people with literacy and numeracy sills however, experience in this area is not essential. You will be a part of a dedicated team of professionals who will offer you clear guidance and mentor you in to this role. The successful candidate will complete a highly comprehensive induction program as-well as on-going training throughout their employment.

We are looking for a Teaching Assistant who will:

• Support groups of students in lessons or 1:1 situations both on and off site.
• Assist the Teacher/Tutor in the preparation of work.
• Support students to make progress in formal learning situations as well as with self-help skills, life skills and social understanding.
• Build successful relationships with our students to enable them to make progress despite their barriers to learning.
• Understand the complexities of our students and support them to make progress with their personal development.
• Manage a range of behaviours as part of a skilled and supportive team.
• Support in administrative duties as necessary.
