Job description

Full time position for a teaching assistant with experience working with pupils with ASCneeds. The position is commencing as soon as possible and will involve working until the end of the academic year and potentially longer dependent on the needs of the school.

The setting is an outstanding Multi Academy trust which operates across 4 sites in Oldham. Sites cater for individuals between 4 - 19 with a Statement of SEN or an EHCPon the autistic spectrum and/or have significant communication and interaction difficulties and social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH).

The role will involve working in collaboration with a qualified teacher to support the optimal development and achievement of all with pupils with SEN. Due to the individual needs of the pupils the ideal teaching assistant will be able to demonstrate a genuine commitment to supporting pupils with SEN. We would also encourage applications from teaching assistants who have experience delivering specialised targeted interventions to support the optimal development of pupils.

The ideal teaching assistant will have:

  • A level 2 teaching assistant qualification (level 3 desirably)
  • Team- Teach (can be provided)
  • An understanding of how to plan and deliver targeted specialised interventions
  • A commitment to ensuring that all pupils including those with SEN can achieving their optimal academic potential
