Teaching Assistant (1:1) - Oldham - immediate start

Job description

An LEA located in Oldham are currently looking to appoint a Teaching Assistant who can start in January 2020. The role will involve Monday - Friday (8.30am - 3.30pm) and working 5 days per week.

The role will involve working on a 1:1 basis with a pupil who has SEMH needs. The pupil is primary school aged and has SEMH needs which can result in them displaying signs of challenging behaviour. Due to the nature of the needs of the pupil the LEA have suggested that it would be ideal for the Teaching Assistant to have a background working in either a Special School, PRU or Residential Setting.

The ideal Teaching Assistant will have:

- A Teaching Assistant qualification (not essential)

- Experience of working within a Special School, PRU or simillar setting

- The ability to build up strong working relationships with the young people you work with

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
