Teaching Assistant -1:1 Behaviour support in Cardiff

Job description

We are currently looking for a Teaching Assistant to support a pupil on a 1:1 basis with challenging behaviour in a lovely primary school in Cardiff.

The pupil is in a foundation phase year 2 class and requires full time 1:1 support.

You will need to be enthusiastic, committed & flexible, as well as having the ability to maintain calm, positive direction when under pressure.

Key requirements:

  • Must be confident in handling behaviour - Firm but fair
  • You must be a creative and caring individual that is willing to go above and beyond for the pupils
  • Ability to build and maintain solid relationships with staff and students
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Have a registered DBS on the update service (or willing to process a new one)
  • You must be able to provide two successful references within the last 6 years
  • Be registered with the Education Workforce Council.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
