Teacher (SEN) - Bradford

We are currently seeking a Teacher on a full time basis for a temporary post in a Special School in Bradford. This role will commence in April 2019, and you will be required until July 2019 in the first instance.

The school is based in Horton and currently has 150 pupils on roll. All pupils have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) and needs include Moderate and Severe Learning Difficulties, Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities, Speech, Language and Communication Needs and Autism Spectrum Conditions.

As a Special Needs Teacher you will be required to:

• Prepare lessons and resources
• Mark and assess work
• Develop and adapt conventional teaching methods to meet the individual needs of pupils
• Use specialist equipment and facilities, such as audiovisual materials and computers to stimulate interest in learning (training can be provided)
• Define appropriate activities for the pupils in relation to the curriculum
• Assess children who have long or short-term learning difficulties and work with colleagues to identify individual pupils' special need(s)
• Liaise with other professionals, including Social Workers, Speech and Language Therapists, Physiotherapists and Educational Psychologists - including implementing specific programmes under supervision of these professionals
• Work closely with parents and guardians
• Assist in meeting pupils' personal care/medical needs
• Carry out administrative tasks, including updating and maintaining records of pupils' progress
• Attend statutory meetings, such as Looked After Child (LAC) reviews, regarding students with an SEN, which may involve reviewing education, health and care (EHC) plans

Applications will be welcomed from Newly Qualified and Fully Qualified Teachers with Primary, Secondary or SEN specialisms (you will be required to teach lessons across the curriculum, including teaching pupils at P Scale Level).
