Teacher of Technology

  • Location: Preston
  • Start: September 2019
  • Contract type: Full Time
  • Contract term: Temporary - 12 months maternity cover

  • Pay rate: £500 - £815 per week

A school in the South of Preston are looking to appoint an excellent Teacher of Technology to join their outstanding Creative Arts & Technology Department. You will be working alongside a team of Art, Computing and Technology specialists.

The school is an 'Outstanding' secondary school, with approximately 650 pupils on roll, making it a smaller than average school.

This post is suitable for a well-qualified or newly qualified, enthusiastic and passionate teacher of Technology with the willingness and flexibility to teach elsewhere across the faculty.

The successful candidate will:

  • Have a Technology related degree qualification or relevant industry experience.
  • Have a recognised teaching qualification.
  • Have a clear and well-articulated philosophy of education and the role of
  • Technology in a young person's development.
  • Have experience of teaching Technology at Key Stage 3 and 4.
  • Be willing to teach outside of their preferred specialism.
  • Have a sound and thorough knowledge of recent developments in Technology
  • Understand how cross-curricular skills can be developed and embedded through Technology teaching.
