Teacher of Science - Wigan

Teaching Personnel are looking to recruit a Teacher of Science on behalf of a high performing secondary school in Wigan. This is a fantastic position for a Teacher of Science to join a reputable school on its journey to achieving Outstanding within their next Ofsted inspection. Further, it represents an opportunity for a Teacher of Science to work in a school with exemplary Science facilities due to recent investment.

Overview-

  • Full time teaching position of Science to Key Stages 3 & 4
  • Excellent facilities with modern Science laboratories
  • To raise the attainment in Science across all year groups
  • Pay in line with MPS/UPS dependant on experience (£22,917- £38,633)
  • "There is a high performance culture within the school. The pupils respect the teaching staff and all that they do for them".

The role-

Due to the ambition of the Senior Leadership team to improve the standard of teaching within the Science department, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a Teacher of Science to join their team for the new academic year. This post is to start from September 2018 and is suitable for both Newly Qualified and experienced Science Teachers.

The incoming Science teacher will join a thriving and successful department. The Science department consists of dedicated specialists who are committed to providing a comprehensive learning of the subject to the pupils. The Head of Department ensures that Science is able to be taught in an engaging manner which results in a vibrant learning atmosphere throughout the lessons.

The school-

Our partner school is a popular choice within the local area and is regularly over subscribed as a result. There are currently just over 950 pupils on roll with the vast majority of pupils from White British backgrounds. There are an average amount of pupils who have Special Educational Needs and those who are considered disadvantaged.

It is located a short drive away from Wigan town centre and is easily accessible from the surrounding the surrounding areas of Orrell, Billinge, St Helens and the suburbs of Manchester via the M6 motorway. There are direct transport links to the school from Wigan town centre.
