Teacher of Science needed for "Good" School near Portsmouth
This partner School is a oversubscribed mixed Secondary School based close to the centre of Portsmouth. The School commits itself to a supportive environment for Students and Staff, and sets high expectations for all.
The School are looking for a passionate and dynamic Science Teacher, NQTs and experienced practitioners both encouraged to apply. Staff and Students enjoy life at this School, it is a positive environment based on hard work and respect. The Science Department consistently performs well, and you will make a positive contribution to the ongoing success of the Department. The School look to grow with their Staff and opportunities for promotion will follow positive results and outcomes.
Currently the School offer AQA Trilogy Science and AQA Triple Science at GCSE level. Students have a fortnightly timetable, completing 9 lessons of Science over 2 weeks. Pupils are supported within the department by Teachers who bring a wealth of experience and expertise to the school. Specialisit Teaching Assistnats and Science Technicians allow pupils and teachers to revieve additional support to aid learning and development in this core subject.
The School is a large Secondary with state of the art facilities, and a growing Sixth Form, offering you the opportunity to teach up to KS5 if you so desire.
Person Specification, you should be/have:
- Fully Qualified Science Teacher, with UK QTS or Overseas equivalent
- Able to teach Biology, Chemistry and Physics up to KS4, and your Specialism to KS5
- Proven track record of raising attainment
- Able to inspire colleagues and students alike
- Passionate about the Sciences, and the role they have in Modern Society
- Innovative, and a creative problem solver
- Should be familiar with best practise in Science
- Able to enthuse and support attainment in Students, from a variety of backgrounds and at all ability levels
