A large, mixed-comprehensive secondary school in Wakefield are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Teacher of Science to join their permanent staff list for September. The successful candidate will have a genuine passion for science education and a commitment to inspiring and engaging students in the subject.
Role: Teacher of Science
Area: Wakefield
Salary: MPS/UPS (dependent on experience)
Contract: Permanent, Fulltime
Responsibilities:
**Delivering high-quality and engaging science lessons to students across different year groups, in line with the school's curriculum and standards.
**Planning and preparing lessons, ensuring they cater to the needs and abilities of individual students.
**Assessing student progress, providing constructive feedback, and implementing strategies to support their academic development.
**Maintaining a positive and inclusive learning environment, promoting student participation and collaboration.
**Managing classroom behavior effectively and implementing the school's behavior management policies consistently.
**Collaborating with colleagues to share best practices and contribute to the development of the science curriculum.
**Participating in parents' evenings, school events, and extracurricular activities to foster positive relationships with students, parents, and the wider school community.
**Keeping up-to-date with the latest developments in science education and incorporating innovative teaching methods and resources into lessons.
Requirements:
**Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent, with a degree in a relevant science discipline.
**Experience teaching science at the secondary school level, preferably in a mixed-comprehensive setting.
**Strong subject knowledge and a passion for science education.
**Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students.
**A commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment for students of all abilities.
**Effective classroom management skills, with the ability to maintain a positive and orderly learning environment.
**The ability to plan and deliver well-structured lessons that cater to the diverse needs of students.
**A willingness to collaborate with colleagues and contribute to the wider development of the science curriculum.
**Familiarity with the use of technology in teaching and learning.
**A commitment to continuous professional development and staying abreast of the latest developments in science education.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
