The Head Teacher and Governors at a large over subscribed Bolton Secondary school are seeking to appoint a passionate Teacher of Science on a full time basis from September 2019 for an open gap within the Science department.

  • Full time Teacher of Science required from September 2019.
  • Must hold QTS with a degree level qualification within one of the relevant Sciences.

  • Pay in line with MPS/UPS £23, 720 - £39, 406.

Based in the metropolitan borough of Farnworth this developing Secondary school has seen drastic positive improvements this academic year under the guidance of an improved Senior Leadership structure. The incoming Teacher of Science can expect to have access to newly refurbished Science laboratories and state of the art resources as the department has now moved into a new building.

The responsibilities for the incoming Teacher of Science:

  • Expected to lead a full time table delivering inventive Science lessons; planning, preparing and evaluating all class work.
  • Effectively teach the National curriculum within the school's Teaching and Learning Policy.
  • Develop schemes of work, resources, teaching and learning strategies, contributing to the monitoring and evaluation of all pupils.
  • Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

The school has just over 500 pupils on roll aged 11-16 and it is ideally situated to be accessible via the M61 and the surrounding areas; Bury, Wigan, Salford and Chorley. Public transport links are also easily accessible, with the Bus and Train station a few miles away from the school.
