Job description

A large Bury based Secondary school is seeking to appoint a Teacher of Physical Education (PE) for a highly successful PE department on a full time basis from January 2019 or earlier. The Head Teacher and the governors wish to appoint an enthusiastic, ambitious and innovative practitioner who can challenge, motivate and encourage their pupils.

If you are a passionate Teacher of PE who is able to deliver inventive lessons across Key stages 3/4 and wish to communicate your enthusiasm and love for the PE and Sports within a highly resourceful department please see the details below for further information.

  • Full time Teacher of PE required from January 2019 or earlier.
  • Must hold QTS alongside relevant experience delivering PE up to GCSE/BTEC.
  • Applications are urged from both experienced and newly qualified teachers as relevant support will be provided.
  • Opportunity to work within an Ofsted graded 'Good' Secondary school.
  • Pay in line with new MPS/UPS £24, 313 - £40, 391.

PE is extremely popular amongst pupils across the school board and boasts a variety of activities including athletics, swimming, cross country, football etc. The responsibilities for the incoming Teacher of PE will include but may not be limited to;

  • Assist in the development of programmes within the PE department alongside through the planning, preparing and marking of the Curriculum.
  • Deliver dynamic PE lessons sessions to pupils across the school at Key Stage 3 & 4.
  • Positively manage behaviour amongst all pupils in accordance to school behaviour policies.
  • Promote the school's vision, aims, objectives and values.

Located at the heart of Bury the school has just over 800 pupils enrolled aged 11-16. The school can be easily accessed via the M66 motorway and the surrounding areas; Salford, Preston and Wigan and there is also an abundance of public transport options readily available with links across Greater Manchester.
