Are you a Geography Teacher looking for work in the Nelson area?
Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with a school in Nelson to recruit a Geography Teacher. The school requires a Teacher Full time to deliver Geography up to GCSE level. The position has become available due to the resignation, of one of the schools Geography Teachers. The position starts from September 2018 and candidates will be expected to complete an initial probationary period. Upon the completion of the probationary period the school will be looking to offer a permanent position to the successful candidate.
The Nelson based school is an average sized school with approximately 900 pupils on roll. In the last 18 months the school has been making strides through their improvement plans. Having a "Inadaquete" judgement lifted and achieving results well above the national average. The school has been commended on their vision for improvement and the staff are highly enthusiastic about improving the provision which is in place for their pupils. The school has a highly inclusive attitude towards new staff at the school and they have a thorough induction in place for all new staff. NQT's considering this role would receive full support from both the school and the Academy with world leading CPD opportunities.
The school is looking for a candidate with a good knowledge of the KS3 and KS4 Geography curriculum who would be confident planning and teaching lessons to a variety of pupil abilities and backgrounds. The school is currently delivering Geography on the AQA syllabus and so experience with this exam board would be preferable, however not essential.
A successful candidate will benefit from the following:
- Negotiable pay rates depending on experience (£100-140 per day)
- Potential for a permanent position for a suitable candidate
- Excellent school location with good transport links
If you feel that this role would be suitable for you then contact Rob at Teaching Personnel ASAP!
All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.
All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
