The Headteacher at a mixed comprehensive Secondary school located in Bolton is seeking to appoint a dynamic Teacher of geography from October 2019.

Due to a permanent member of staff set to take maternity leave prior to October half term this Ofsted graded ‘Good’ Secondary school is seeking a passionate practitioner to join their welcoming staff team. -          Full time Teacher of Geography, required October 2019.

-          Must hold QTS alongside relevant degree level qualifications within Geography to be considered.

-          Applications are welcomed from both experienced and newly qualified tecaher4s as relevant support will be provided for the successful post-holder.

-          Excellent location easily accessible via the M61.

-          Pay in line with MPS/UPS GBP24, 373 - GBP40, 490.

The Humanities department within this welcoming Secondary school has recently seen a full refurbishment within the classrooms and learning spaces, providing access to state of the art resources within modern facilities. As the incoming Teacher of Geography your responsibilities will include but may not be limited to;

-          Contribute to the Geography department to engage, motivate and inspire.

-          Deliver outstanding Geography lessons in line with the Geography National Curriculum at Key Stage 3/4 and GCSE, through differentiated teaching and learning.

-          Evaluate and asses classwork taking appropriate action to provide additional support

-          Promote an inclusive pedagogy best suited to each individual learner.

-          Take on extra curricular responsibilities which include attending regular staff meetings, parent’s evenings and staff training; where applicable.

The school currently serves just over 500 pupils aged 11-16 and is easily accessible via the M61 motorway and the surrounding areas; Bury, Preston and Wigan. There is also an abundance of public transport options readily available with links across Greater Manchester.
