The Headteacher at a small Bury based Secondary school are seeking a passionate Teacher of Geography on a full time basis for two terms, from September 2019 (initially for two terms).

This mixed comprehensive Secondary school has continued to create a positive impact within the local community, renowned for its inclusive practice and welcoming school team. This Teacher of Geography position will include full responsibilities alongside co-curricular activities and potentially a form group. Applications are welcomed from both experienced and newly qualified teachers as relevant support will be provided.

  • Pay in line with MPS/UPS £23, 720 - £39, 406.

The incoming Teacher of Geography will be a dynamic practitioner, who can bring an enthusiasm to help support and develop the Humanities department. A passion for Geography is paramount alongside effective communication skills and strong subject knowledge, which will inspire pupils and staff, which will embed a positive culture of teaching and learning.

The responsibilities for the Teacher of Geography will include but may not be limited to;

  • Contribute to the Geography department to engage, motivate and inspire.
  • Deliver outstanding Geography lessons in line with the Geography National Curriculum at Key Stage 3/4 and GCSE, through differentiated teaching and learning.
  • Evaluate and asses classwork taking appropriate action to provide additional support
  • Promote an inclusive pedagogy best suited to each individual learner.
  • Take on extra curricular responsibilities which include attending regular staff meetings, parent's evenings and staff training; where applicable.

Located in the Radcliffe region of Bury the school has just over 800 pupils on roll, aged 11-16. Bury is easily accessible via the M60/M66 and the surrounding areas; Bolton, Preston, Rochdale and Salford. There are also various public transport options available with links across Great Manchester.
