Full time Teacher of English required for a Salford based Roman Catholic Secondary school, fixed term from January 2019, until the end of the academic year.

Our partner Secondary school is seeking to appoint an outstanding Teacher of English who is dedicated to ensuring pupil progression within their successful English faculty. The Teacher of English position allows the opportunity for an experienced or newly qualified teacher (NQT) to join a distinguished school and supportive staff team.

The successful Teacher of English will be expected to have a passion for the English subject in addition to a detailed knowledge and understanding, aspiring to be a talented, dynamic and ambitious Teacher of English.

  • Full time Teacher of English required from January 2019 - until the end of the academic year.
  • Both experienced and newly qualified teachers are welcome to apply as relevant support will be provided for the successful Teacher of English.
  • Must hold QTS alongside a relevant subject specific degree level qualification within English.
  • Opportunity to work in an Ofsted rated 'Outstanding' RC Secondary School.
  • Pay in line with MPS/UPS £23,720 - £39,406 per annum.

The incoming Teacher of English will be required to support the Catholic ethos and vision of the school as well as meet the conditions of the duties laid out by the Senior Leadership Team. The English faculty is one of the highest achieving departments within the school with 96% of all pupils achieving above national average at GCSE level.

Teacher of English responsibilities will include;

  • Deliver dynamic English lessons in line with the National Curriculum for English, taking appropriate actions to assess, evaluate and pupil progression.
  • Work with pupils in a manner which is conducive to the school ethos and contribute to the well being and development of the pupils and the school.
  • Assist in establishing and maintaining high standards of teaching and learning alongside promoting high standards of behaviour.
  • Maintain current and new teaching approaches through continued development and CPD training, where required.

Located in Eccles, Salford, the school has just over 900 pupils on roll aged 11-16, it is ideally located to be accessed via the A580 (East Lancashire Road) and the surrounding areas; Bury, Bolton and Manchester. There are also various public transport options with links across Greater Manchester.
