Teaching Personnel are working on a small secondary school located in Waterlooville who are seeking a Teacher of English to join them in September 2019 or January 2020. We are seeking an enthusiastic, forward-thinking Teacher of English with the energy, intellectual capacity and determination to join the successful English department and make a difference to the lives, aspirations and opportunities of all pupils. The school has fantastic new buildings, with outstanding facilities and Apple technologies for all, enabling them to enhance and support cutting-edge learning strategies required for continuous improvement.

The school are able to support applications from those looking to work part-time and have a number of initiatives aimed at supporting a healthy life/work balance. Those seeking a part-time timetable will receive a pro rata salary. If successful, you will join the schools Academy and Trust wide supportive learning environment, characterised by open management, with the knowledge that you will enjoy the full support and care of their pragmatic (and down-to-earth) leadership team. Join this forward-thinking department where English is taught in ability groups with access to a well-equipped Learning Resource Centre and computer room. Students follow the National Curriculum at KS3 and 4, whilst preparing the majority of students for AQA Language and Literature at GCSE. At A level, both English Literature and a combined course of English Language/ Literature are offered.

The school are dedicated to enhancing young people's lives and aim to provide a world class education through developing a love of learning beyond the school gate. They encourage their students through installing positive habits. They are therefore looking for someone who:

  • Is an inspiring NQT or more experienced teacher who is able to install an expert and creative way of thinking
  • Shares best practice and consistently strives for excellence from their students
  • Who is a dedicated practitioner that can provide an all inclusive education, particularly for students who supported by the pupil premium
  • Is reflective and passionate about their own CPD and able to positively contribute towards inset days and supporting teaching and learning in the department
  • Has expert subject knowledge
