Fully Qualified Teacher required for small class of key stage 2 students with challenging behaviour, to start after May half term 2018 or September 2018.

A primary school in the Kidbrooke area of South East London is looking to recruit a fully qualified teacher for their alternative provision. The provision is within the whole school building, but separated from the mainstream classes. They are looking for someone who is passionate about teaching children who have been excluded from the mainstream classrooms due to their very challenging behaviour.

The children are all capable of working at expected National Curriculum levels, although their lack of focus and increase in challenging behaviour has become a significant enough barrier that they have been transferred to this alternative provision.

The role:

  • You must have QTS and be able to teach the Primary National Curriculum up to key stage 2
  • You will be working full time in a class of just 6 students, starting Monday 4th June 2018 or Monday 3rd September 2018, depending on your availability
  • There will be 3 teaching assistants available to support you in class
  • You must promote positive behaviour and be confident in your own ability to use behaviour management strategies successfully
  • You must be proactive and able to direct the teaching assistants appropriately in supporting you to teach the children
  • You must be able to carry out all planning, preparation and assessment duties

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
