As a Teaching Assistant are you wanting a new challenge? Are you looking to gain more experience delivering in the class room? Do you feel like you have the confidence to plan your own lessons and deliver to a high standard?

I may have a role for you!! If you are available for a minimum of 2 days from September and you are flexible in the days you can work then please read on and get a feel for the role I am looking to appoint for.

The School

The School is two-form entry and located in the centre of Darwen, Lancashire. The children who arrive in school tend to live in the local area and are mainly from Asian heritage backgrounds. Behaviour in school is GOOD and the recent Ofsted inspection results reflect the school in a positive light. The parents of the children are supportive in the development of their children and will work with the class teachers and senior leaders in school to enhance learning opportunities. The School have a new Head teacher who is covering maternity and he is keen to stamp his own style on things in school, starting with the appointment of a cover teacher.

The Role

The role is a part time teaching role however you do not need to hold QTS in order to apply and be successful in this role. If you are Level 3, HLTA or QTS qualified you will be considered. The role is expected to start from the next academic year and run until at least Christmas. The role may continue further into the New Year and beyond depending on the response you gain from the children and the Senior Leaders. The Head teacher has said he would be happy to appoint on a supply basis on a Thursday and Friday, however he is flexible with working days depending on the applicants. You will be expected to work with the other class teachers to plan around the Curriculum; mainly foundation subjects. You will also be expected to deliver your planned work to a high standard and impact on learning straight away. The Head teacher is also keen for the successful applicant to build strong relationships with the children and the adults in school.

In order to apply for this role you must have recently completed the Safeguarding Level 1 qualification in the last 12 months. If you haven't then you can use online providers for this. The school are happy to pay between £60-£75 per day for this cover role. Through Teaching Personnel you will also received holiday allowance and have a pension scheme set up.
