Are you seeking a role supporting pupils with Social, Emotional, Mental Health and Behavioural Difficulties?
Are you fully available, 5 days per week?

A Primary School in Nelson are seeking a Teaching Assistant with experience in Social, Emotional, Mental Health & Behavioural Difficulties to support a pupil on a 1:1 basis.
The school provides an educational provision for children from age five to eleven who have been permanently excluded or who are at great risk of permanent exclusion. The pupils may sometimes express challenging behaviour therefore you must have experience in this area and be understanding and supportive of the difficulties pupils with social, emotional and mental health difficulties face.
The ideal candidate will:
" Maintain firm boundaries in a calm non-threatening manner
" Work to develop positive relationships
" Break learning into manageable tasks
" Give positive and constructive feedback to the child
" Support, guide and nurture the pupil.

*You will ideally have Team Teach or at least be willing to undertake this course through Teaching Personnel*

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.
