TEACHING ASSISTANT - OLDHAM - FULL TIME - JANUARY 2018 START
Teaching Personnel are working alongside an Ofsted graded 'Good' school in Oldham to help support the restructure of their support department for the remainder of the academic year.
The school require a full time Teaching Assistant to join the support department for at least the remainder of the academic year. You will be required to work alongside the SENCO as you develop individual plans for identified pupils, supporting them on a 1:1 and group basis as you help them reach the curriculum and support them with any additional needs they may have, whether these are learning, behaviour, SEN or SEMH related.
Due to the nature of this position previous experience as a Teaching Assistant is preferred, however we would welcome applicants from individuals with previous experience in a similar setting, such as youth work, social care or if you have supported young pupil either in a secondary school setting or similar. We would also welcome applications from recent graduates seeking further experience in a secondary school setting before enrolling on a PGCE or similar Teacher Training Programme.
The school is an Ofsted graded 'Good' school based in Oldham with free staff parking, located a short distance from Royal Oldham Hospital and easily accessible via major public transport links to Manchester City Centre. The school have an excellent reputation within the local community and uphold a strong reputation of achieving academic success. There has been a recent multimillion pound refurbishment in the large modern secondary school, with state of the art facilities throughout resulting in excellent provisions for teaching and learning.
