Support Worker (Special Needs School) - Uxbridge

An inclusive special need school in Uxbridge are looking for confident support workers. Applicants would need to be available for a minimum of 3 weekdays to work for them in instances of staff absence, sickness and training days.

The school provides a holistic and personalised learning approach for children aged 7-19 with autism, learning difficulties and communication disorders. Due to their needs, the school seek support workers experienced in supporting these needs or with relevant training. The school has a primary, secondary and post-16 site with state-of the-art facilities tailored for children with special needs.

What you will do daily:

  • 1:1 or 2:1 support with daily skills and short activities in Maths, English and sciences
  • Assessing and recording development of pupils academic, social skills and behaviours
  • Prioritising the safety and well-being of each child across the school (Safeguarding)
  • Collaborating with therapists, teachers and senior leadership in order to provide the most effective support
  • Supporting pupils with toilet support and nappy changing
  • Supporting pupils who may require assistance with moving and handling (hoisting)

What you will need:

  • Experience as a support worker with autism, learning difficulties or mental health
  • Commitment to work 3 weekdays from 8:30 - 4:00pm
  • Experience working with children and young adults is ideal but not essential
  • Genuine interest in furthering your understanding and experience within the special education field

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
