We have an amazing opportunity for support workers who are seeking career progression and a new challenge. A highly accredited and Ofsted rated "Good" school in Reading are looking to appoint experienced support workers for SEN teaching assistant positions.

Working with children and young adults with disabilities is a great transition from support and care work due to the skills required in personal care, moving and handling and positive behaviour support.

These positions are to start immediately or from the January 7th 2019 and will be long term and potentially permanent depending on how each candidate is getting on. Additional perks include on-going training, on-site parking and a friendly and supportive staff team!

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children or young adults
  • Experience working as a Support Worker or in the healthcare industry
  • Full-time availability and available to do longer hours on Monday & Tuesday

What will I do?

  • Working with children and young adults with learning difficulties including Autism and sensory needs
  • Supporting in small classes of or less with a highly skilled team of specialist teachers and teaching assistants
  • Promote positive behaviour in class and around school
  • Promote inclusion in learning through stimulating educational and social activities
  • Observe, record and access pupils progression
