Location: West Drayton, Hillingdon

Role: Support Worker/Teaching Assistant

Duration: Immediate start Monday to Friday 8:30 to 4:00pm till July 2020 and permanent contract offer opportunities available

Pay: GBP65 - 75 per day (paid on a weekly basis)

Children with mental health needs thrive from having exceptional hard working staff with an in-depth and open understanding of mental health support. We are currently recruiting Support Workers to work full-time in a secondary department of a school in West Drayton 1:1 and in small groups with children aged 11-18 years old.

The school are looking for support workers or those with experience who are:

  • Open to working in schools with young people aged 11-18 who have been unable to learn in mainstream schools for a range of reasons such as mental health, special need diagnosis, being in care, being at risk of or being abused.
  • Dedicated and consistent as building and maintaining positive relationships is vital.

There are two support worker roles available till July 2020 and hours are 8:30-4:00pm Monday to Fridays with permanent opportunities available for those who would like to continue in the school.

  • Local transport links across Hillingdon – Metropolitan and Piccadilly line with 222, U3, U1 and U5 local buses

Essential criteria: Support Worker background or experience working with children/young people with mental health, special needs or in education

Desirable criteria:  Mental health awareness training, Special Needs experience, Team Teach or positive handling training, MIDAS training to drive school minibus
