*£65- £80 daily rate- PAYE - No hidden fees*

Teaching Personnel are currently seeking a support worker immediately to provide high quality support and therapeutic learning environment for pupils with various special educational needs from Autism to associated behaviours and complex needs. The purpose built special school use a holistic approach to meet the individual needs of each child to help them reach their full potential with a broad curriculum that caters to academic, social and life skills.

This will be a full time post until the end of the academic year supporting across secondary classes, delivering both 1:1 and small group support. We are looking for an enthusiastic, flexible individual who has an understanding of how to support autistic children and holds previous experience with pupils across the spectrum. PECS or Makaton training is highly desired but not essential as training is provided on site. This will be working in a 'Good' Ofsted rated school, with a senior leadership team who have a clear vision for their pupils and support staff development with ongoing training and internal progression opportunities. The school value people that are committed to the school and pupils so dependant upon performance the school will be looking to offer a permanent contract to the successful individual for September 2019.

Autism Support worker specification:

  • Previous experience with autistic children or adults with learning difficulties
  • Able to interact well with pupils and build trust and rapport with young people
  • Can provide 1:1 support that is suited to individual student's special educational needs
  • Willing to support with toileting needs
  • Monday to Friday 8.30am-3.30pm during term time
